You guys have only got 2 days full days of study left before the meet. You might consider reading the all the content (1-9) once or twice each day. Continue to answer questions out of your green book and begin to be in prayer about the meet. Pray that you would be able to retain what you are studying, not just for the quiz meet, but for life. Pray that everything you do on Saturday would glorify God and that you would thank Him in all things.

During these last four day, be sure and go over lots of questions. At this point you should have the content down pretty well and you would benefit from answering upwards of 30 questions a day. But don't do it all in one sitting. Develop a system for reviewing the questions you miss and make sure you go back over them until you've gotten them correct.

A good way to remember to study, is to pick a time in your day that is almost always free, and to study at that time every single day. You could even go a step further and try to study in the same exact place every day. This will create a good study habit, that once established, will be difficult to break.

Alright guys, we've only got a week until the quiz meet so that means cram time. Here's a couple of tips on studying.

Listen/Read in the Car: You can do this on the way to school, on the way to the grocery store, any trip really. It doesn't have to be long.


Listen/Read at Bedtime and Upon Rising: The brain retains things better when they're reviewed in the evening, and then your mind is the most refreshed in the morning so studying the Scripture then can be very rewarding. Plus, reading Scripture is a great way to start and end your day.

Rule of 7: It takes seven concentrated memorization efforts to move the content from short-term memory to long-term/memory. That means that in order to make the content or a verse part of you permanent memory, you will need to study it at least seven separate times.  

Try one of these this week, or even all of them. If it seems that they work well for you keep going with them past the cram week. And don't be afraid to tweak them to suit your needs.

New Rules

We're going to try things a little different this week. Instead of having a Verse of the Day, we'll have a verse of the week and a Quizzer of the week. But this doesn't mean I'm going to just post once a week.

I'm going to make the puzzles so hard that it takes you a week to figure the Verse out. I'll still be putting a new puzzle up everyday, but I'll just provide less information. Today I'm going to give the clue now, but tomorrow and the rest of the week the clue will come out at 5:00 like usual.
